I’m a fun-loving gal with a passion for people who believes that there’s good in everyone – and the best businesses are built on trust, honesty, and doing something positive for the world around you.
I’ve been devoutly reading and writing since I was 3 3/4 years old. I would pour into every book I came across – literally! I’ve read Dr. Seuss to trashy romance novels to every sort of fiction-fantasy series out there to classical Shakespeare… and more. After a reading fest, images of all sorts would form in my head, and I’d write furiously to capture them all on paper.
So of course, when it came down to my career choice, I figured I’d either be a copywriter or an Amazonian tour guide…
To be honest, when I graduated from California State University Northridge in ’09 with my English BA, I had no idea what the heck I was going to do with my life. I had two beautiful little girls in my life. Working a 9-5 job wasn’t at the top of my list.
But I had an itch.
You see, I’m not exactly what you’d call housekeeper material. Within a week of graduating, I realized I wanted to work, to influence, to do something spectacular. So I decided to start a business.
I made business plans. I had everything set up – except I had no idea what I wanted to do. Then it hit me, I love business… and I love writing… why not get into advertising writing! Brilliant. I decided to test my skills and I wrote up my first piece of sales copy ever. It was complete crap.
But instead of giving up, I went ahead and invested in my ‘education’ – and bought every copywriting, marketing, and advertising book I could lay my hands on and absorbed every word. I tried writing a sales copy piece again – this time it was quite nice. Within 2 weeks, I landed my first client and helped him successfully launch his business site. Within a month, I created and launched my own mini-booklet and sales page, and made over $5,500 in just a few short weeks.
From there, I’ve been sought out to write and work with countless small business clients, multi-million dollar corporations, catalogue companies, website marketers, and product manufacturers who use my writing to make the mega-bucks. Online copy, offline copy, direct selling, soft selling, positioning, branding – I love writing and keeping my clients happy – and boy do they keep me busy.
And guess what? I absolutely love what I do.
